Graham Norton surprised listeners of his weekend program on Virgin Radio on Saturday with the news that he will stop after Sunday. The Irish presenter has been heard in the station’s weekend show on Saturdays and Sundays since 2021.

“It’s a slightly different show than you’re used to because I have an announcement. I’m stopping the weekends here on Virgin Radio,” Norton said during The Graham Norton Radio Show.

He further stated that, including other duties, he has been working weekends for thirteen years and now wants his “weekends back.” However, Norton will continue to be heard at the radio station “every now and then,” he said.

In his statement, the presenter stated that his “life has changed somewhat”. Norton got married, started writing books and spends a lot of time in his home country of Ireland. He also presents the BBC talk show The Graham Norton Show and provides commentary for the Eurovision Song Contest every year.
