“I’d rather die of Corona than live in a social coma” – according to the police, three men smeared this sentence on a wall in front of the old people’s home of “Pflege und Wohnen” at the Rennkoppel in Hamburg on New Year’s morning, next to two anarcho stars. Almost 100 people in the home were infected with Covid-19 in November – many even succumbed to the virus. The translation of the tasteless sentence, especially against this background: “I would rather die of Corona than live in a social coma”.
Three drunks are said to have been responsible. A 28-year-old man who had had alcohol in his blood and who lived in the area was arrested shortly after a caller called the police. According to witnesses, his two accomplices escaped staggering. Their identity: still unknown.
Graffiti on nursing home in Hamburg: State security determined
The state security, which investigates politically motivated acts, is also examining a connection with the graffiti on cars in the same district and the same night: Five vehicles were damaged – and also given so-called anarcho stars.

The care and old people’s home could not be reached on Sunday for inquiries. As MOPO learned from the employees’ environment, the graffito should be removed “as quickly as possible”.
