Chess District Class: TSVG ensures 6.5:1.5 trending success.
The district championship game between TSV Grafenberg and TSG Zell trended the rest of the season. A win meant a secure place in midfield and a defeat meant fighting to stay top of the league. But Zell’s guests gathered only five players and started with a 0:3 match. The Grafenbergers were able to take it easy and proved to be superior on the boards they played. Dieter Greiner definitely won an exchange (rook against piece), Hartmut Hummel was enough to succeed with an extra pawn. After Florian Weber’s draw, Heiner Schneider’s opponent conceded the queen in balanced position. Only team boss Volker Lang had to congratulate his opponent after he finished in a worse final that could no longer be held.
TSV Grafenberg – TSG Zell 6.5: 1.5: Gugel – Korn +: -, Lang – Pett 0: 1, H. Schneider – Hirner 1: 0, Weber – Albrecht 0.5: 0.5, Hummel – Rapp 1:0, Greiner – Bischofberger 1 :0 :0, F. Schneider – NN +:-, Antal – NN +:-.

The second team of TSV Wendlingen was useless in the fifth game. In Deizisau it was just enough for the bottom of the standings…
