Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Celebrates Graduation of Commercial Arbitrators
Fujairah, UAE – The Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently held a celebration at its headquarters to mark the graduation of the first batch of commercial arbitrators. The program, aimed at rehabilitating and preparing 15 arbitrators, was conducted in collaboration with the Arab Institute for Accountants and Legal Professionals. The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Saeed bin Suroor Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with other dignitaries and the graduates themselves.
During the event, Sheikh Saeed Al Sharqi emphasized the importance of arbitration in achieving speedy dispute resolution and reducing wasteful procedures. He commended the Arab Institute for Accountants and Legal Professionals for their contribution to the rehabilitation and preparation of the arbitrators.
Sultan Al-Hindassi, Director General of the Chamber, congratulated the graduates for successfully completing the program, which covered various aspects of commercial arbitration, including financial and banking disputes, maritime arbitration, real estate dispute resolution, electronic disputes, and intellectual property.
Al-Hindassi also highlighted the Chamber’s commitment to activating the Fujairah Center for Conciliation and Commercial Arbitration. He emphasized the center’s increasing significance in light of the expanding commercial and investment businesses in the emirate. The Chamber aims to create a conducive environment for the center to collaborate with other commercial arbitration centers and raise awareness about alternative methods of settling commercial disputes. The center will operate with full legal independence as stipulated in the UAE Arbitration Law No. (6) of 2018.
Dr. Adnan Abu Odeh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Institute for Accountants and Legal Professionals, praised the Chamber’s dedication to activating the Fujairah Center for Conciliation and Commercial Arbitration. He also commended the Chamber for signing an agreement with the institute to ensure the highest levels of training for the arbitrators.
The ceremony concluded with Sheikh Saeed Al Sharqi, Sultan Al-Hindassi, and Dr. Adnan Abu Odeh presenting certificates to the graduates, marking their successful completion of the program.
