Against the impressive backdrop of the Selber Christmas market on one side and the portal of the town church on the other, “Tochter Zion” and “Vom Himmel hoch” sounded. Mayor Ulrich Pötzsch drew attention to two other events: On Friday, December 23, around 5 p.m., some stands of the Selber Christmas market will open for the Selber CSU “Coming home for Christmas” party. And on January 15th the city of Selb invites you to a New Year’s reception at the Rosenthal Theater.
Leoni-Bingo
In the afternoon, the Lions Club “Selb an der Porzellanstrasse” had already concluded its Christmas lottery with the drawing of the main prizes. “The event, which has become a tradition, was so well received that tickets were quickly sold out,” Mayor Ulrich Pötzsch said during the draw, praising the commitment to a good cause.
Rosi Döhler, president of Lions Club Selb, thanked all the donors, companies, shops, lottery ticket buyers who contributed to the success of the lottery: “It’s wonderful that the people themselves get together so well.”
Despite the freezing cold, the many visitors to Martin-Luther-Platz enthusiastically followed the drawing of the ticket numbers. Like a lucky fairy, the mayor determined the winners of the eleven main prizes. The prizes were a panoramic flight over the Fichtelgebirge, a health week with a six-day hotel stay, three valuable wristwatches, a stay at the Heidelheim campsite and five vouchers for organic products from regional farms. Winners who were unable to claim their prize themselves will be notified personally.
