The union body has 14 male and female graduates among its councilors, among whom stand out the professors of our Faculty Álvaro Fuentealba, Matías Insunza, Paulo Montt, Cristián Maturana and Enrique Navarro.
The graduate and former Comptroller of the Republic, Ramiro Mendoza placeholder image, was elected as the new president of the Chilean Bar Association, position in which he replaces the professor of our Faculty, Hector Humeres, and in which it will remain until June 2023.
The election was held on January 3, after the new councilors of the union body were sworn in. Ramiro Mendoza was elected with a total of 10 votes in favor.
Ramiro Mendoza is a lawyer from the University of Chile. He has served as a professor at numerous universities, both Chilean and foreign, and has also practiced as a lawyer in private law firms. He was Comptroller General of the Republic between 2007 and 2015.

It should be noted that for the period January 2022-June 2023, more than 14 graduates of the University of Chile are part of the Council of the Bar Association.
Among them, the professors of our Faculty stand out, Álvaro Fuentealba Hernández, Matías Insulza Tagle, Cristián Maturana Miquel, Paulo Montt Rettig Y Enrique Navarro Beltran.
The graduates present in the Council are Luis Alberto Aninat Urrejola, Leonor Etcheberry Court, Paulina López Gallardo, Soledad Recabarren Galdames, Andrea Saffie Vega, Mónica Van der Schraft Greve, Pedro Pablo Vergara Varas Y Elisa Walker Echeñique.
