Grab that winter coat, this weekend (fliter thin layer) snow is coming | Inland

The first winter weekend is ushered in with a freezing cold Friday. Precipitation is expected in the afternoon and it will gradually become colder. Put on a thick coat, because in the evening it is only +1 to +3 degrees. Wet snowflakes also fall between the drops.

The chance of wet snow is greatest in the eastern provinces.

Paper thin wet layer

In the ‘white’ weekend it will remain cold with a degree of 4. Saturday will remain cloudy and there will be some precipitation. Unfortunately, that will mainly be rain, but sometimes wet snowflakes will also whirl down. The chance that the landscape turns white is unfortunately very small.

But those who live in the higher areas, such as the Limburg hills and the Veluwe, may be in luck: there may be a wafer-thin wet layer on the grass. But it’s not more than that: the roads are still too hot.

Fresh air

It will be sunnier on Sunday, but the chance of winter showers is also greater. Most showers occur in the coastal regions and there may also be hail. Inland the chance of wet snow is greater.

In between the showers there are fortunately enough moments to get a breath of fresh air. But also there: dress warmly, because the north wind makes it very cold.

Wet roads

If you go out early on Sunday or Monday, you should take local slippery conditions into account. “There is also a good chance that you spend time scratching your car windows. The precipitation from the showers can freeze considerably, creating a hard crust on your windows,” says Yannick Damen, meteorologist at Weeronline.

After the weekend it will also be cold on Monday with a few winter showers. From Tuesday it will become milder again and the temperature will rise to around 7 degrees.
