A detective caught a 39-year-old shoplifter red-handed in Neu-Ulm on Saturday. He had a navigation system plugged in.

On Saturday afternoon, an attentive store detective observed a 39-year-old taking a mobile navigation device from the display and putting it in the backpack he was carrying after removing the anti-theft device. However, when leaving the store, the store detective was able to stop the thief in the exit area and hold him until the notified officers arrived. As part of the investigation, the 39-year-old was found to have additional stolen goods that he had previously stolen from another store in the same shopping center on Bahnhofstrasse. According to the current status of the investigation, the total damage to the loot amounts to around EUR 300. After all police measures had been completed, the accused was released from police custody.
