As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and in accordance with Morocco’s National Sustainable Development Strategy for 2030, GPC – Papier et Carton renews its commitment to the preservation of the environment and energy efficiency by carrying out a complete Carbon Assessment of its production sites.
This approach is in line with the company’s efforts for environmentally friendly development, in accordance with the environmental charter signed by Ynna Holding in 2009, the group explains. The initiative aims to evaluate greenhouse gas emissions according to the three scopes of the GHG protocol, with an analysis carried out according to the Bilan Carbone Method of the Mohamed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection and the ISO 14064 Standard.
“We are firmly committed to continuing our growth in a spirit of social and environmental responsibility. We believe that sustainability is at the heart of our future prosperity and we are determined to integrate the principles of sustainable development into all our operations, investing for a better world for generations to come,” highlights Mounir El Bari, Managing Director of GPC – Paper and Cardboard.
The results of the Carbon Assessment highlight a breakdown of emissions by scope, allowing the company to define a targeted action plan to reduce its environmental impact. Boxes present a predominance of Scope 3 emissions, while stationery displays more balanced emissions between the three scopes.
In summary, GPC – Papier et Carton demonstrates its commitment to environmental sustainability through its Carbon Assessment and its initiatives aimed at reducing its impact on the environment.
