GP Ansor reported former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Roy Suryo to Polda Metro Jaya regarding alleged defamation, Friday (25/2).
It is known, Roy had reported Yaqut to Polda Metro Jaya on Thursday (24/2) yesterday. However, the report was rejected by the police.
“We suspect that Roy Suryo violated several ITE Laws, the Criminal Code, slander, an unpleasant act, the rioting law,” said the Head of the Litigation and Non-Litigation Advocacy Division of the GP Ansor Central Leadership Legal Aid Institute Dendy Zuhairil Finsa at Polda Metro Jaya, Friday (25/2). ).
Dendy explained that Roy was reportedly related to the video content uploaded to his Twitter account. Dendy said the uploaded video had been cut.
“It’s a strong assumption that people make noise with each other, be hostile to each other between individuals and groups,” said Dendy.
On the other hand, Dendy said that the statement made by Yaqut as the Minister of Religion was not comparing or equating the call to prayer with the barking of a dog.
Yaqut, said Dendy, only discussed the Sepiker or mosque toa which had to be regulated.
“So the Minister of Religion only talks about the prayer. The context is about the prayer, not the context of the call to prayer. From there, the context is different,” he said.
The report was received with the number LP/B/1012/II/2022/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA dated February 25, 2022. In the report, the reported party was Roy Suryo and the victims were mentioned as Indonesian people and GP Ansor.
The articles reported are Article 310 of the Criminal Code and or Article 311 of the Criminal Code and or Article 28 paragraph 2 Jo Article 45 paragraph 2 and or Article 32 paragraph 1 Jo Article 48 paragraph 1 Law Number 19 of 2016 on ITE and or Article 14 paragraph 1 and Article 15 Law Number 1 of 1946 on the Regulation of Criminal Law.
Previously, Roy Suryo revealed that the Polda Metro Jaya rejected his report against Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.
As a matter of fact, Roy would have reported Yaqut regarding the alleged violation of Article 28 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 2 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE). Or they can be charged with Article 156a of the Criminal Code on Blasphemy of Religion. Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E Zulpan confirmed that Roy’s report was rejected.
