Gowa Regent Adnan Puchrita Ichsan was furious with the Secretary Gowa Satpol PP Mardani Hamdan for hitting a married couple (couple) during an emergency PPKM raid. Adnan asked Mardani to take responsibility for his actions.
“Last night I immediately called. As soon as I got the report and the (viral) video, I immediately called the person concerned,” said Adnan when met by reporters at his official home page, Jalan Masjid Raya, Gowa, Thursday (15/7/2021) night.
Adnan claimed to know Mardani. He also asked for clarification from his subordinates for the violence that occurred.
“The person in question is the Secretary of the Satpol, so of course I know and know the person concerned. I immediately called and asked (asking for clarification) why something like this could have happened,” he said.
When speaking on the phone, Adnan said, his subordinate admitted that the PPKM raids at people’s homes were colored by violence or beatings against married couples. Hearing a direct confession from Mardani, Adnan then asked his subordinates to be responsible for the incident.
“So I told you what you have done, you as a Gowa person must dare to take responsibility. And he said I was ready to take responsibility,” he said.
Then when talking about sanctions, Adnan firmly admitted that he would not be favoritism. He even said that Mardani could be subject to severe sanctions after undergoing an examination by the Gowa Regency Inspectorate.
“We will see the Inspectorate’s examination later, but if it is me because once again we all make decisions and policies in accordance with existing rules and regulations, I hope that he will be severely punished,” he said.
As previously reported, Adnan as the head of the local area expressed an open apology for the violent incident committed by his subordinates. Adnan apologized publicly, both on behalf of the Gowa Regency Government and on behalf of himself.
“On behalf of the Gowa Regency Government, I apologize profusely because this has disturbed our comfort,” he said.
“And I (personally) also apologize to the victims and their families because there are officers or unscrupulous Gowa Regency Government officials who commit violence against the people of Gowa Regency,” he added.
