Governors of 23 states close ranks in defense of the federal health model

Given the panorama of the health system that was questioned during the presidential debate, the 23 Morenoist governors closed ranks to come out in defense of the health model that is being built in conjunction with the federal government. From the National Palace, they came out in defense of the reorientation of the health model to leave behind the scheme that prevailed in the past: “it is a great leap in terms of health. There cannot be an unoccupied hospital bed when there are people who may not have anywhere to be treated,” said the governor of Nayarit, Miguel Angel Navarro.

He stated that currently the health system is not based on private insurance that most people cannot access, but now people who suffer from cancer, heart disease and other conditions can be cared for.

The governor of Tamaulipas, Américo Villarreal, thanked the federal government for its collaboration to advance the implementation of a competent, effective model to provide institutional results to provide a better health system for the population that allows reducing the burden of disease and obtaining more years in the life. Other institutions with responsibility must intervene in this conception of public health.

Villarreal assured that “in Tamaulipas, this support combined with supplies and medicines has made it possible to reverse the cycle of deterioration and improve the health indicators of the population: there is a reduction in maternal mortality, greater attention to obstetric emergencies, lower neonatal mortality and give greater life opportunities to those who suffer heart attacks.
