New Delhi> CPI-M PB stated that the Kerala governor’s statement is not compatible with the status of the Constitution. The Governor does not have the power to dismiss ministers. The PB statement also stated that the President should step in and correct the Governor.
The statement from the governor’s official Twitter account is tantamount to saying that the governor can fire a minister at will, demeaning the governor’s office. The President should prevent the Governor from making unconstitutional statements. The powers of dictatorship are not vested in the governorate. The governor’s political affiliation was revealed through the statement. This also shows hatred towards the LDF government. PB also asked the President to prevent the Governor from making such statements.
