In the governorate of Bobo-Dioulasso, a collective break in the Ramadan fast took place on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Other religious denominations in addition to the Muslim community were present at this break in lunch.

It is exactly 6:30 p.m. (universal time) at the residence of the governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, when the military chaplain makes the call to prayer, synonymous with the call to break the fast. Muslim faithful and guests are therefore called upon to break the fast. The Governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, Colonel Moussa Diallo accompanied by the administrative and religious and customary authorities of the region, gives the starting signal.

After breaking the fast, the assistance is immediately called to proceed to the prayer, which will be led by Amadou Sanogo, vice-president of the Muslim community. “These moments are of great importance for us, because in addition to meeting together for the breaking of the fast, we also prayed for our country Burkina Faso for the return of peace”, says Amadou Sanogo.

Also present at the collective rupture, Father Jacques Dembelé, vicar general of the archdiocese of Bobo-Dioulasso, welcomes the initiative. “Each religious denomination is in search of God. If our search is sincere, we must find ourselves in him. This evening’s gesture not only expresses our desire to walk together, but also expresses the stone that we must each contribute to the construction of social cohesion. will he indicate.

According to the governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, Colonel Moussa Diallo, the objective is to promote social cohesion and inter-religious dialogue. He also took the opportunity to pay tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

A special tribute was paid to the Head of Administrative and Financial Service (CSAF) of the Governorate, who died last Wednesday.
