The number of corona infections is not doing well. The cities and towns on the border of France are concerned about this. Because our government still gives the Northern Department the code orange, while the French give it the code red. “There is not much we can do for the time being”, says West Flemish governor Carl Decaluwé. Many French people cross the border to do some shopping in our country. “As long as the region changes to orange, we cannot take any extra measures,” says Decaluwé.
The mayor of Menen is also concerned. “It’s a very unpleasant situation,” says Eddy Lust (Open VLD). “We will keep the mouth mask duty in the Barracks anyway.”
