Dr. Tirta Criticizes Banten COVID-19 Account, Governor Even Attacks Back

After previously responding to netizens, this time it was Dr Tirta’s turn to criticize the design of the COVID-19 post on the Banten Province Health Office (Dinkes) Instagram which featured the faces of the governor and deputy governor.

On his YouTube account, Dr. Tirta compares Health Office accounts from DKI Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Central Java, East Java and Banten. When displaying Banten’s account, the faces of the governor and his deputy are shown. He considers this the neatest COVID-19 education account compared to other regions.

“So we crowned the Banten Provincial Health Office as the neatest Instagram feed for Covid education. This is the Instagram, very neat. DKI Central Java, Yogya, East Java, through all of them. Banten Prov is the best. Bismillah, commissioner,” said Dr. Tirta sarcastically.

This video clip was spread and reposted by several social media accounts in Banten. This innuendo certainly received a response from the relevant parties.

“It doesn’t just show the faces of the governor and deputy governor, but also contains information on Covid data and zoning maps per district and city,” said Ati in a separate message.
After being criticized by netizens, the person in charge of the official account is said to be now held by officers from the Ministry of Communication and Informatics. There are IT personnel who are assigned to manage the account.

“Assigned by the regional secretary to be seconded to the health office through a letter sent by the BKD,” he explained.

Previously, netizens commented on this Health Office account. Various comments were made. Some say when the Health Office will replace its robotic account with a human. In fact, some think that the account that announces COVID-19 every day is the governor’s personal property.

“Are the residents of Banten so afraid that they forget their leaders? You’re on display for every post,” wrote the @grace**** account.

“I think the Governor of Banten’s personal Instagram …” wrote @m-sabar***.

“I swear this is a government agency social media account with the ugliest content in the world,” said @kevin_****.

However, Friday (16/7/2021) night, the design of the COVID-19 data post changed. The first slide immediately displays the latest COVID-19 case data, although the photos of the governor and his deputy still appear.
