The governor of Papua is inactive Luke Enembe do not want to eat in prison KPK. Lawyer Lukas Enembe, Petrus Bala, said that his client did not want to eat because the food menu from the KPK did not suit his taste.
“Because just in terms of the food menu, the food menu prepared at the KPK is for healthy people and that was conveyed by fellow KPK detainees yesterday afternoon when Mr. Lukas was escorted to meet me,” said Petrus after the trial at the Tipikor District Court, Jalan Bungur Besar Raya , Central Jakarta, Monday (17/7/2023).
Petrus said food for Luke should not be equated with a healthy prisoner. According to him, the food menu was not suitable for Lukas who was sick.
“I asked, why didn’t you eat? The detainee said the food we ate didn’t suit Mr. Lukas, because it was healthy people’s food, there was fish, there were vegetables, there were all kinds of things, but for Mr. Lukas it was not suitable,” he said.
KPK Asks Lukas Enembe to Follow Doctor’s Advice
Head of KPK Reporting Unit Ali Fikri stated that Lukas Enembe was sick because he did not want to eat and take medicine from the doctor. The KPK appealed to Lukas Enembe to cooperate in following the doctor’s advice so that the trial would run smoothly.
“Information we have received, his health condition is declining because the person concerned does not want to eat and take medicine from the doctor, for that in the future we hope that the person concerned can be cooperative and disciplined in taking medicine and follow the doctor’s advice for the sake of health and the smooth running of the trial process,” said Ali, Monday (17/7).
“We make sure that the health of the prisoners is a priority because it is their right. We give the rights of prisoners according to the portion and conditions that apply,” he added.
KPK Ready to Pay for Luka Enembe’s Treatment Costs
Now, Lukas has been sent back to the RSPAD until July 31, 2023. This is the second time that Lukas Enembe has been dismissed during the trial period. The KPK prosecutor had asked about Lukas Enembe’s medical expenses.
“Please excuse me, Your Honor, it may be necessary to clarify regarding the costs of Your Majesty’s treatment, will it be charged to us or from the defendant?” asked the KPK prosecutor during the trial at the Corruption Court, Jalan Bungur Besar Raya, Central Jakarta, Monday (17/7).
