KUPANG, KOMPAS.com – The Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat visited State High School 6, which was the first to implement school entry at 05.00 WITA. Later the check-in time was changed to 05.30 WITA.
In front of the teachers and hundreds of school students, Viktor said his visit was to provide motivation. This includes the policy of starting school earlier than before.

“Coming to school at 05.30 WITA, that does not mean going straight to class. Enjoy first, dance, relax, sing relaxed again and then transfer knowledge to students,” said Viktor, Friday (3/3/2023).
According to Viktor, teachers must pay close attention to students before carrying out the teaching and learning process.
“We are not an institution for child care services. We are becoming an institution to build someone for their future,” said Viktor.
Viktor emphasized that students are prepared to become independent individuals in the future. That, he said, is one way to build human resources in NTT.
Viktor said, so far NTT has also contributed many great thinkers in Indonesia. However, the average reliable thinkers are not from public schools.
“This time we will show you that in the future great thinkers will be born, successful children will be born from SMA Negeri 6 because this school is prepared to be a superior generation,” he said.
To achieve this, the preparations made by schools and the provincial government must also be better. One way is to apply the school entry hours at 05.30 WITA.
Previously, the school entry policy at 05.00 WITA for SMA Negeri 6 Kota Kupang and SMA Negeri 1 Kota Kupang, was shifted to 05.30 WITA.
Only the two schools implemented a policy of entering at 05.30 WITA in NTT.
SMA Negeri 6 Kota Kupang started implementing the policy on February 27, while SMAN 1 Kota Kupang on March 1.
