Jakarta –
PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) removed the Governor of Maluku Murad Ismail from the position of Chairperson of the Maluku PDIP DPD. PDIP Deputy Secretary General for Democracy Sadarestuwati emphasized that the release of Murad Ismail as Chairperson of the Maluku PDIP DPD had gone through an organizational mechanism.
“Mr. Murad Ismail showed an attitude that was not commendable. Because when Mr. Djarot Syaiful Hidayat and Mr. Komarudin Watubun clarified, suddenly Mr. Murad showed an emotional attitude. This attitude is far from the character of a wise leader in solving problems,” Sadarestuwati said in a statement. it was written, Tuesday (9/5/2023).
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the DPP PDIP Women’s Sector Sri Rahayu also deeply regretted Murad Ismail’s attitude which put the interests of the family, especially his own wife, above the interests of the people.
“As a governor promoted by PDI Perjuangan, Mr. Murad should prioritize the interests of the people, nation and state. PDI Perjuangan has party rules that husband and wife cannot be of different parties, but it turns out that Mr. Murad even showed an emotional attitude in the presence of Mr. Djarot Syaiful Hidayat as a polite person, a listener, and always looking for solutions by deliberation,” said Sri Rahayu.
Because of Murad Ismail’s emotional attitude, when the PDIP DPP gave a report to Ketum Megawati Soekarnoputri. Megawati’s directive was very clear that all PDIP cadres were required to maintain party discipline and comply with party regulations.
According to the PDIP, what happened in Maluku is an important lesson, how can each PDIP cadre be able to maintain behavior, be polite, but be firm and strong in defending the common people.
“The party was built on firmness in ideology and cadre discipline. On this basis, the party made the decision to relieve Mr. Murad Ismail from his position as Chairman of the PDI Perjuangan DPD, and appointed Mr. Benhur Watubun as Chair of the DPD and Mercy Barends as Secretary of the DPD Party, said Sri Rahayu.
