Governor of Gedaref: A large number of farmers suffer from insolvency

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Al-Taher Abu Bakr Hajar, was briefed on the overall situation in Gedaref state, the final stages reached by the Gedaref water project, the problems facing agriculture, financing the agricultural season, and the insolvency of farmers.
During his meeting today in his office at the Republican Palace, the designated governor of Gedaref state, Mohamed Abdel Rahman Mahjoub, Hajar affirmed the government’s keenness and interest in continuing to complete the financing of the rest of the state’s projects, in coordination with the Sovereignty Council and the Federal Ministry of Finance.
The acting governor of Gedaref state, Muhammad Mahjoub Abdel Rahman, said in a press statement that he gave a detailed explanation to the member of the Sovereign Hajar about the Gedaref water project, in which work was completed by 95%, in addition to the problems and obstacles that continued to face agriculture and farmers, represented by the delay in funding for the agricultural season and the insolvency that a large number of people suffer from. from farmers.
His Excellency pointed out that the state government demanded the formation of a supreme committee at the federal level that includes the Bank of Sudan, the federal ministries of finance and agriculture, the Agricultural Bank and all banks in the state in order to determine and standardize the price of peace and set a timetable for financing the agricultural season.
