Governor of Aden condemns STC militia attacks on protesters at Parade Square

SANA’A, Aug 3, 2024 (Saba) – Aden Governor Tariq Salam condemned the STC militia’s attacks on peaceful protesters at the Parade Ground in Aden and the firing of live bullets at them, which resulted in casualties.
The governor of Aden said in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that this crime adds to the series of brutal crimes that the STC militia has recently committed and continues to commit against the people of Aden and the occupied governorates. This included the kidnapping of Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal and other people from those governorates whose notorious secret prisons are full of such.
He pointed out that the mass withdrawal at the parade ground in Aden reflects the extent of the rejection by the population in the occupying countries of this militia and its financiers, which has turned the occupied governorates into an arena for chaos, terrorism and the most heinous violations and crimes against thousands of civilians who rejected its deployment and its collaboration with the occupier.
Salam stressed that this peaceful march shows the reality of this bloody militia, which encountered repression and direct shootings at the protesters.
He praised the level of awareness and the great responsibility shown by the protesters, stressing that the great popular dynamism embodied by the people of Aden and the occupied southern governorates on the parade ground showed the ugly face of the occupier and his tools, which have made the people of the occupied governorates experience all kinds of suffering and deprivation.
