The company’s major crime is criticizing a new law in Florida, many critics have renamed the “Do not Say Gay” law because it prohibits teachers from mentioning sexual orientation or gender identity from kindergarten and through third grade in primary schools.

Removed special agreement
As punishment, DeSantis on Friday signed a law removing a special agreement Disney has had since the late 1960s, which largely gives the company the authority to govern itself.
Warned against illegal plan
DeSantis’ decision could have huge consequences for Disney and the local economy.
The decision, which takes effect in June 2023, means, among other things, that Disney may have to pay a lot more in taxes.
