The Police Department is investigating a series of bomb threats sent to several synagogues in the city.
Governor Hochul spoke out on the matter, communicating that they are actively monitoring these threats.
Governor Hochul responded to the situation in a post on X saying: “We will not accept people spreading fear and anti-Semitism. Those responsible must be held accountable for their despicable actions.”
We are actively monitoring several bomb threats at synagogues in New York. It has been decided that threats are not credible, but we do not accept individuals who are fear-mongering and anti-semitism. Those responsible must be held accountable for their reckless actions.

On the other hand, Senator Chuck Schumer announced new federal funds of $400 million to increase security at synagogues, mosques and churches in the city.
The move comes after several synagogues reported receiving bomb threats on Saturday.
The Rodeph Sholom congregation on the Upper West Side was evacuated this afternoon, as was The Chabad of Midtown.
Synagogues in Brooklyn Heights and the Brooklyn Museum also received email threats.
The police say that all these threats turned out to be baseless.
