Jakarta – The governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, who is also a presidential candidate from the PDIP, took action after hearing residents’ complaints during a blusukan at the market in North Jakarta. Traders at the Anyar Bahari Market in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, expressed their concerns about the high monthly fees and the decline in market visitors due to online sales.
During the visit, one trader complained to Ganjar Pranowo, saying, “Our market has very few visitors, sir.” Ganjar responded, “It’s very crowded.” The trader explained that the market has lost customers to online platforms, causing their businesses to suffer.
In response to the traders’ complaints, Ganjar immediately tried to contact the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Heru Budi Hartono. However, Heru Budi was unavailable as he was attending a wedding. Undeterred, Ganjar then reached out to DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary (Sekda) Joko Agus to convey the residents’ concerns.
Ganjar discussed the traders’ issues with Joko on the phone, specifically mentioning the heavy levy payment and the need for affordable food options. Joko assured Ganjar that the levy payment could be lightened and informed him that KJP counters for cheap food had reopened at Pasar Anyar Bahari.
Joko also expressed his willingness to meet with the market coordinator in person to address the traders’ concerns. The residents were pleased to hear Joko’s response, and Ganjar promised to provide Joko’s contact information to the market coordinator.
After speaking with the residents, Ganjar explained the purpose of his visit to the market. He emphasized the importance of addressing the traders’ issues, such as the heavy monthly fees and the availability of affordable food. Ganjar also highlighted the need to punish criminals without negatively impacting businesses.
Ganjar expressed his gratitude for being able to connect with Joko, whom he has known for a long time. He emphasized the importance of addressing the concerns of people like the traders at Pasar Anyar Bahari.
The actions taken by Ganjar Pranowo demonstrate his commitment to addressing the concerns of residents and supporting local businesses. By reaching out to DKI Jakarta officials, Ganjar aims to find solutions to the challenges faced by traders in the market.
