Together with the Government of Mexico and developers, Sonora is working to guarantee the demand for housing that will increase with the arrival of projects and investments derived from the Sonora Plan for Sustainable Energies, said Alfonso Durazo Montaño, state governor.
In a meeting with Carlos Martínez Velázquez, general director of the National Workers’ Housing Fund Institute, the aspects of the Sonora Plan were presented, as well as the impact it will have on the housing sector in the state.
“The sources of employment will generate demand for housing; the modernization of the port will generate demand for housing; the Sonora Plan, whose initial objective is the generation of clean energy, will naturally reorient the manufacturing of semiconductors to the state, and the establishment of the electromobility chain, because these two industries are demanding clean energy. And what other state has the generation of clean energy that Sonora has? There is none.”he declared.
Durazo Montaño pledged to work on the issue of land reserves to make them available for the construction of social housing, which would be accessible to all Sonorans.
Finally, the meeting analyzed the proposals for reforms to the various legislations related to the field of housing, which will provide different modalities for working-class households, whether for the purchase or rental of a house or apartment, according to their income.
