Governor Cuomo: New York maybe on corona peak

The worst-hit US state of New York may be past the peak of the corona crisis. That’s what Governor Andrew Cuomo said at his daily press conference about the most recent developments. 540 new corona deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours, the smallest increase since April 1.

The number of corona patients admitted to hospitals fell for the third consecutive day. Yesterday, 2,000 hospital patients with corona complaints joined, “still an overwhelming number,” Cuomo said.

“If you look at the past three days, you could argue that we have passed the peak and are now on our way back. That would be very good news,” Cuomo said cautiously. The number of patients treated in IC is also decreasing. Although the emergency departments are no longer overcrowded, no point has yet been reached where relaxation of the corona restrictions can be envisaged, the governor also said.
