Malappuram: Governor Arif Muhammad Khan will reach Ponnani today. The governor will arrive at Eramangalat at 11 am for the memorial service of the late former Congress MLA PT Mohanakrishnan. Governor Arif Muhammad Khan arrives in Malappuram during the SFI protest.
SFI put up protest banners against the Governor. Banners with the words ‘Mr Chancellor you are not welcome here’ and ‘Mr Chancellor this is a place where your bloody criminals beware’ have been put up.
Ramesh Chennithala was the chief guest at the commemoration meeting presided over by Congress leader VM Sudheeran. The Youth Congress had earlier expressed public protest against the invitation of the Governor to the memorial program of the Congress leader. Leaders like ET Muhammad Basheer MP and P. Nandakumar MLA are also invited in the program.
