Heading the Urban Public Art Route in this province, Roberto Ángel Salcedo, director of Propeep, highlighted the efforts of President Luis Abinader’s government to promote art and culture in every corner of the country.
Salcedo announced the completion of several projects in this province, including 12 Paseos de los Colores, two courts and four parks renovated by the “Dominican Cultural and Creative” department of the state organization he heads, which total 15,458 square meters in this territory.
COMMITMENT TO URBAN ART
He said that the province of La Romana has become a great canvas for its artists, where through art they deal with various themes that identify the city, both in the cultural, historical, sporting, gastronomic, productive and touristic aspects.
WALK OF COLORS
It includes the creation and renovation of Paseos de los Colores in the municipalities of Güaymate, Villa Hermosa, La Romana and the municipal districts of Cumayasa and Caleta; they include parks and courts in urban areas in various provinces.
These spaces feature vibrant murals and artwork that represent the history, culture and values of each community.
Salcedo added that in collaboration with local governments and community leaders, these projects have allowed artists from various regions to express their creativity and contribute to the revitalization of public areas.
