If you have planned a trip and received a booster vaccination, don’t forget to download the new certificate in the CovidSafeBE app or via one of the websites. That says the agency Digital Flanders on Friday. The certificate of your booster shot does not automatically appear in the CovidSafeBE app.

Adding the certificate is easy. In the CovidSafeBE app you have to press the button “Check for new certificates” at the bottom and sign up via Itsme or eHealth. The certificate is available in the app within 2 to 7 days after the registration of the vaccination center. The certificates can also be downloaded from the websites of My Citizen Profile, My Health, MyHealthViewer or Helena. You can also request the certificate by post via the automatic menu of the helpdesk on 078/78 78 50 (Flanders) or 02/214 19 19 (Brussels).
The COVID certificates are designed for smooth and safe travel in the European Union. The certificates prove that someone has been vaccinated, recovered from COVID-19 or tested negative. Some European countries, including Austria, are already asking incoming travelers for the certificate of your booster vaccination, the so-called “booster”.
Last week, more than 1 million vaccination invitations were sent in 1 week. If you want to receive your invitation the fastest, it is best to do this via My Citizen Profile. Everyone will also receive the invitation by post. Meanwhile, more than 7.3 million Belgians use the CovidSafeBE app, the safest solution to store the certificates.
