Government Takes Action to Control Lumpy Skin Disease Outbreak in Livestock Farms in Korea

The government will purchase more vaccines against lumpy skin disease, a viral infection that spreads among livestock farms in Korea.

As reported by the quarantine authorities, until 2 pm on the 5th, a week after issuing an emergency vaccination order, 3 million 700 thousand cows, 90.9% of the 4 million 700 thousand cattle in the country, have already been vaccinated.

As of 8 a.m. on Monday the 6th, no new infections have been reported, and the total number of confirmed cases rises to 78. The last one was detected on Sunday the 5th in Dangjin, South Chungcheong province.
