There are 25 companies from San Juan that benefited from a subsidized rate loan from the Government of San Juan, which allowed them to invest in energy efficiency systems. Figures from the Ministry of Production and Economic Development indicate that, in a year and a half, the total amount settled was $242,599,807of which $202,848,844 were invested in solar panels, and $39,750,963 in electrical installations.
To obtain these results, the Ministry of Production and Economic Development carried out an awareness process with producers about the benefits and advantages that photovoltaic energy offers in their operations.
During 2022, workshops and talks were held to provide detailed information on the technical and economic aspects related to the implementation of these systems; highlighting the impact of tariff schemes, the possibility of reducing energy costs and, in addition, contributing to sustainable production.
The fundamental step was financial assistance to producers interested in adopting photovoltaic energy technologies. Through agreements with the monetizing entities of the province, as well as with financial organizations such as the Federal Investment Council (CFI) and other banking entities, loans were offered, and are being offered, at a rate subsidized by the Government of San Juan, which are the most attractive on the market.
This task allowed producers and industrialists to overcome economic barriers and access sustainable solutions in energy terms.
Were 13 companies those that benefited from the Fiduciaria San Juan Irrigation Line, ($136,408,844); four companies received credit from the Productive Reactivation CFI ($36,640,000). Three other companies took the Investment Project and Purchase of Capital Assets line ($8,850,963); two firms benefited from line 1600 from Banco San Juan ($25,000,000); while a company took the CreAr Inversión Federal Pyme line from Banco San Juan; and a company benefited with $700,000 from the Productive Investment Financing Fund (Fondefin) through the San Juan Investment Development Agency.
The productive sectors benefited were: agriculture, livestock, forestry, manufacturing industry, retail trade, wholesale and repairs, construction, social and health services, transportation, storage and communications services, social and personal community services.
The Minister of Production and Economic Development, Ariel Lucero, stated that “the objective from the Ministry has been to be able to incorporate the concept of energy efficiency into the productive framework, providing technical and financial tools to achieve it, taking into account that the generation of renewable energy applied to production processes, it generates competitiveness in the sectors through cost reduction; promotes efficiency, and fosters the sustainable use of resources.”
Daniel Gimeno, Secretary of Economic Policy, stressed that this change in the energy matrix contributes to reducing the Nation’s fiscal deficit, because an important part of that deficit are energy subsidies and each productive unit that adds renewable energy is an outlay except for the National State.
