Government Spokesperson Mihai Constantin’s Income Sources: TVR, AOMR, and More

With an experience of over 20 years in TVR, the spokesman of the Ciolacu Government, Mihai Constantin, had several sources of income last year, but the most money was not collected from Public Television, but from the position of director executive of AOMR – The association representing Orange, Vodafone and Telekom Mobile.

Journalist and communication specialist, with a career spanning over 25 years in print and television media, moderator and event presenter, Mihai Constantin was appointed spokesperson of the Government in July of this year.

Revenues from TVR, AOMR and two other companies

Until his appointment as Secretary of State, Government spokesman, Mihai Constantin worked for over 20 years at Public Television (TVR), the last position being a senior journalist of the news department. Among other things, he produced and presented the digital education column GhiDigital.

At the same time, until his appointment to the Ciolacu Government, Mihai Constantin was also the executive director of the Association of Mobile Operators in Romania (AOMR), an association that represents the interests of Orange, Vodafone and Telekom Mobile.

Mihai Constantin has been in this position since September 2017, and the data from the recently published wealth declaration show that this is where most of the money came from.

Thus, last year he earned total revenues of over 87,000 lei from TVR (over 7,200 lei/month) and 150,000 lei (12,500 lei/month) from the Mobile Operators Association.

Also last year, he collected 17,500 lei from Grayling Romania for moderating events.

In addition, he also had income of around 82,000 lei from the return of loans previously granted to the company Rating Media SRL, where Mihai Constantin is an administrator, according to the information Termene.roupdated on September 1, 2023.

Rating Media deals with “activities of advertising agencies” and is fully owned by Mihai Sanda Mărioara.

It is not clear if the “credit return income from Rating Media” it collected last year is related to the previous loan to this firm.

The data from the wealth declaration show that in 2017, Mihai Constantin bought a house of 117 sqm, an agricultural plot of 3800 sqm and two urban plots of 597 sqm and 1113 sqm in Gorgota town of Prahova county.

Mihai Constantin also has a 57 sqm apartment in Bucharest.

In addition, it has a numismatic collection and approximately 100 paintings and sculptures by contemporary authors, acquired between 2008 and 2023, with an estimated value of 50,000 euros.

Mihai Constantin has no debts to the banks.
