The Government of the Republic announced this Thursday afternoon that the businesses and massive activities that voluntarily decide to request the QR code to verify vaccination against COVID-19, they will be able to expand their capacities.
According to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, this decision respects the precautionary measure taken by the Contentious Administrative and Civil Court of Finance, which ordered the suspension of the effects of resolution MS-DM-8119-2021 of the Ministry of Health, which ordered demonstrate having a complete vaccine scheme to access non-essential trade as of January 2022.
“The massive businesses and activities that voluntarily requesting the QR code for COVID-19 vaccination to customers will be able to expand their capacity, and those who wish to operate without a request to demonstrate the vaccination via the QR code will do so with a lower capacity and respecting distancing measures “Zapote explained.
The Government reiterated that essential businesses (supermarkets, hardware stores, bakeries, among others) remain exempt from the verification of the health certificate, so they will operate at 50% of their capacity. Nevertheless, Those who voluntarily decide to require the QR code will be able to operate with a capacity of 100%.
Likewise, establishments that do not require a vaccination QR code, in addition to having a smaller capacity, must respect 1.8 meters of distance and social bubbles, or star type location in the case of cinemas and theaters.
Minors, between 12 and 17 years old, will not need to present in any case, regardless of the establishment or activity, the vaccination certificate until January 31, 2022.

- Without QR code: 20% capacity with distance of 1.8 meters and social bubbles

- With QR: 100% capacity
