The Ministry of Health published the resolution that ended the Mandatory use of masks in open spaces. Although the Minister of Health had indicated that the measure began to apply since last February 23, this March 1 gave legal ground to the decision.
In the Resolution 350 of 2022 it was reiterated that all municipalities and cities with more than 70% of the population vaccinated with complete schemes they do not require applying the measure of the mask outdoors.
However, it underlines the need for all people with “comorbidities, respiratory conditions, as well as unvaccinated people” to continue using it in public spaces.
It was also exposed that on closed places the wearing of the mask is still mandatory. In places such as bars or restaurants, you should only leave to consume food or drinks.

And they reiterated some basic parameters about its use. For example, they ask citizens to “hold the tapes or elastics so that it is firm. If the mask has a flexible band on one of its sides, it must go at the top, mold the band over the nasal septum.
If your face covering got wet, torn, or dirty, you should throw it away. If it is fabric, this it should be washed after “continuous use” of more than eight hours.

As intermittent use of the mask must be made between open and closed spaces, it is best to always have it at hand. “The mask must be kept in its original packaging if it is not going to be used or in sealed bags, it is not recommended to store them without packaging in the bag, or pockets because they can be contaminated, broken or damaged, ”said the Ministry of Health in its resolution.
The regulation also warns that face masks should not be disposed of “in the containers arranged in public spaces, if it is necessary to spread alcohol on them, destroy them and pack them in a double bag so that they are not reused.”
