Government promotes technological innovations for the agricultural sector

The historical debts that the previous administrations accumulated with the agricultural sector include the lack of modernization of this productive sector of the country, something that with the Government of President Nayib Bukele is being solved with transcendental decisions that meet the most heartfelt demands of the sector.

The incorporation of technology and the innovation of services are two essential elements for the Agricultural Rescue Master Plan and its three pillars: food sovereignty, coffee rescue and ruralization. For this reason, there are actions that are already underway to provide innovative tools in favor of producers.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) reported that they have drones adapted to agricultural work. They have the capacity to store 22 liters of agrochemicals that can be applied between 2.5 and three hectares of land in an estimated 45 minutes. This function is ideal for fertilization, pest control and also to face phytosanitary emergencies.

The technicians of the Directorate of Vegetal Health received the necessary training to be able to use these devices to benefit crops and to handle different high-end technology.

Similarly, the vice minister of MAG, Lily Pacas, explained that inter-institutional initiatives such as the Center for Research and Education in Sciences (CIECA), key in the academic, training and experimental aspects of the agricultural branches.

“With all these efforts, what we achieve is to bring development to our farmers,” said the Vice Minister of Agriculture.

The modernization of the MAG has also made it possible to have a more efficient system for the delivery of agricultural packages, the subsidy for fishermen and also to have more precise information on sensitive issues such as the impact of the climate and irrigation districts.

The Government of President Bukele works so that farmers can carry out their tasks with access to technology, financing under attractive conditions and the support of all public institutions, which contributes to bringing this important economic sector out of neglect.
