Return to reduce electrical current loads
Books – Mohamed Salah:
The Ministries of Electricity, Renewable Energy, Petroleum, and Mineral Resources are holding meetings and coordination are being prepared to develop a vision for agreeing on the implementation and setting of the timings of the load reduction plan, the timeline for disconnection and connection, and the areas that will be excluded from the reduction.
An official source at the Electricity Holding Company revealed that fuel consumption rates at power stations decreased somewhat despite the suspension of the load-reducing plan due to improved weather conditions, indicating that oil provides the current needs of electricity production stations for diesel and gas, and the quantities supplied vary from day to day depending on Consumption, ranging from 11 to 13 thousand tons of diesel and from 92 to 96 million cubic meters of gas.
The source added, to Masrawy, that a plan will be developed to provide supplies according to expectations of daily electricity consumption in the summer months, which witness an increase in loads as a result of the use of air conditioning devices and high temperatures, and the plan will be presented to the Prime Minister, noting that the mitigation plan will be implemented starting Monday. The next one coincides with the end of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
According to the source, the meeting will include discussing the existence of radical solutions to fulfill electricity by paying late dues to the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources for natural gas shipments and the quantities of fuel necessary to operate stations to generate and produce electrical energy.
The source pointed out that the increase in the prices of electricity consumption segments that were implemented since last January contributed to reducing the mitigation plan to two hours instead of 4 hours per day, with the possibility of returning to the 4-hour mitigation system if temperatures rise above their normal levels.
