Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting this evening to define the obligations and roles assigned to the various concerned ministries in order to assist the National Elections Authority in facilitating the conduct of the upcoming presidential elections, in the presence of Counselor Omar Marawan, Minister of Justice, and Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health. And the population, Dr. Mohamed Moait, Minister of Finance, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Ambassador Hamdi Loza, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs, Major General Wael Saada, General Supervisor of the Crisis Center at the Ministry of Local Development, and officials of the relevant ministries.
Ambassador Nader Saad, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, said that the meeting reviewed the commitments that the government will make to assist the National Elections Authority in performing its duties during the upcoming presidential elections, according to the provisions of the constitution and the law.
The Spokesman stated that the meeting touched on the position of the electoral headquarters in which the elections will be held at home, which are affiliated with the Ministry of Education, and it was confirmed during the meeting that the government is ready to provide the required locations. The meeting also touched on electoral headquarters abroad, where elections will be held in 138 committees inside the headquarters of Egyptian diplomatic missions in 122 countries, adding that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent these data to the National Elections Authority.
The Spokesman referred to the cooperation and coordination of various state agencies with the National Elections Authority with regard to all aspects of the electoral process, explaining in this regard the coordination with the Ministry of Social Solidarity; Concerning facilitating the casting of votes by people with special needs, as well as coordination with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, regarding the availability and provision of any needs required by the electoral process.
It was also emphasized during the meeting the full readiness of the Ministry of the Interior to secure electoral venues at the level of the Republic, as well as the readiness of the Ministry of Health and Population; To provide the required health care and ambulatory services in the vicinity and headquarters of the electoral commissions during the conduct of the elections, in addition to the role assigned to the Ministry of Health with regard to procedures for examination and medical examinations of the candidates for the elections. There is full coordination with the National Elections Authority in everything related to the health file.
Also, during the meeting, it was emphasized that the funding required by the Ministry of Finance would be available. To provide any logistical demands related to the electoral process.
