Government – Potsdam – Interior Minister Stübgen: Action plan against right-wing extremism – Politics

Potsdam (dpa / bb) – Brandenburg’s Interior Minister Michael Stübgen (CDU) does not want to allow any tolerance of right-wing extremism in the ranks of the state’s security authorities. “The interior ministers’ conference decided last autumn to take systematic action against right-wing extremism and hate crime,” said Stübgen on Wednesday when asked. How this should be implemented has now been discussed with the cabinet. He will present the action plan to his colleagues from the other federal states at the Conference of Interior Ministers in Erfurt.

First of all, the “Märkische Oderzeitung” reported on Wednesday, referring to the plan, that a central office “Internet research – right” was to be set up in the State Criminal Police Office. This is intended to identify radicalizing people and right-wing extremist networks at an early stage. The Interior Minister sees a particular need for action in dealing with hateful comments on social networks.

In the RBB-Inforadio, Stübgen said on Wednesday that right-wing extremism is currently the greatest threat in Germany. In cooperation with Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia, the aim is to clear up radicalization on the Internet earlier than it normally happens now. It is also being examined how radicalized individual perpetrators could be better monitored and registered.
