The Government plans to privatize, in 2024, 31 of the 63 assets available within the framework of the Privatization Program (PROPRIV 2023-2026), said today, in Luanda, the head of the privatization department of the Institute for Management of State Assets and Participations (IGAPE ), João Sionguele.
Speaking at the seminar, promoted by the Institute of Management of State Assets and Participations (IGAPE), in partnership with the Association of Economic Journalists (AJECO), he highlighted that among the assets stand out ENSA, TV Cabo and 39 hotel units of the chain IU, IKA and BINA, distributed across 15 of the country’s 18 provinces.
João Sionguele recalled that in 2023 around 11 assets were privately owned, with a contracted value of around 49 billion kwanzas.
The head of the Privatization Department reinforced that, since the execution of PROPRIV, around 600 billion kwanzas have been received.
According to him, 103 assets were privatized in PROPRIV, with a contractual value of 1.03 billion kwanzas.
João Sionguele stressed that of the total privatized, around 70% of the contracted value corresponds to awards to foreign companies.
