Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas.- To provide skills, strategies, intervention actions and update comprehensive care in the health and illness process, the eleventh “Strengthening Challenges in Social Work” conference was held.
In commemoration of Social Worker Day, the Secretary of Health, Vicente Joel Hernández Navarro, inaugurated the academic work, which will take place over three days and where students will acquire knowledge that is crucial to strengthening health services, which will reflect the humanistic side that characterizes this group of professionals and who are a key piece for the government of Dr. Américo Villarreal Anaya.
“Social workers represent one of the transversal lines of our health system. They are, without a doubt, the hand that supports the patient and his family. You look for a way to support them during their stay in a medical unit, whether it is just for a moment or for longer stays,” Hernández Navarro said during his message.
He said that it is of utmost importance to recognize this noble work, which not only impacts the life of the patient, but also strengthens his family and the health system, since he faces great challenges and complex situations; that in each action he performs he expresses his passion and dedication, for this reason he urged them not to lose the essence of helping those who face a health problem and to continue with the dedication that characterizes them.
The academic work was carried out at the facilities of the Regional High Specialty Hospital of this city, where more than 300 professionals from the health sector units of the entity participated virtually and in person.
The inaugural event was attended by the head of the Coordination of the Regional High Specialty Hospital, Daniel Durán Perales; the rector of the Victoria Campus, North Region, of the Universidad Valle de México, Rafael Saldívar Hinojosa; the head of the Health Office of the IMSS Bienestar, Humberto René Lara; the director of Operations assigned to the IMSS Bienestar Service, Juan José Uriegas Avendaño; the deputy director of Care of the Regional High Specialty Hospital, Petra Catalina Espinosa Lugo; the director of Planning and Teaching of the Regional High Specialty Hospital, Daniel Sánchez Hinojosa, among other officials.
