The General Secretariat of the Presidency (SGP) issued a statement establishing that as part of its mandate and with the purpose of improving the attention of its services, it reiterates to Guatemalans relevant information about the exoneration processes.
Meanwhile, it describes that it is the Government’s policy not to grant exemptions from fines and/or interests determined by the Superintendence of Tax Administration (SAT). And that specific cases that are considered for humanitarian issues may be excepted.
“Exemptions for fines and/or interest determined by the Guatemalan Migration Institute have one hundred percent exemption, as they are issues related to Human Rights,” he points out.
Likewise, exemptions from fines and/or interests determined by the Directorate of Cadastre and Real Estate Appraisals of the Ministry of Public Finance are subject to review in each particular case.
The Secretariat warns that the exemption process is completely public and free. Any charge for processing files is illegal. If there is information of any irregular act, it will be reported to the corresponding authorities, they point out.
