In coordination with the Coffee Growers Committee, and in the company of Juan Valdez, an iconic figure of Colombian coffee growers, the departmental administration has launched its special line of Red de Progreso Agropecuario Cafetera, aimed at 10,000 producers in the municipality of Vergara. of coffee the wheat that participates in the processes of crop renewal.
During the event, Governor Nicolás García indicated that “around the cafe there is perhaps the best organization and associativity in the country, which is why it deserves to be highlighted also in the Department. 60 municipalities of Cundinamarca produce coffee, so we decided to have a special chapter for producers. We will encourage small coffee farmers, farmers up to five hectares, with these cards to be allocated to the fertilizers necessary for the renewal of their crops ”.
In this sense, this agreement is aimed at articulating institutional actions with the aim of improving the production and profitability of coffee cultivation in the area, promoting and supporting the work of planting, renewing and fertilizing the coffee plantations.
Of the total value, which amounts to $ 8 billion, the Cundinamarca Development Marketing and Innovation Agency (ACIDC) will contribute $ 7 billion through exclusive agricultural papers for coffee farmers, while the Farmers’ Committee of Cundinamarca coffee will do the same with $ 1,070 million through grants aimed at restructuring aid.
Thus, of the 10,000 beneficiaries, the Coffee Growers Committee has already identified 6,000, who will obtain the Charter in November and December 2022, and the remaining 4,000 coffee farmers would receive it in the first half of 2023. The value of the contribution will be determined. from the intervened area and can range from $ 250,000 to $ 2,500,000, which can only be invested in fertilizer.
It is important to remember that Cundinamarca is the tenth coffee producing department in the country, with 29,290 hectares planted, of the Castilla, Colombia, Típica, Caturra and Cenicafé 1 varieties. Its annual production amounts to 202,600 loads, equal to 25,325 tons, being Viotá, San Juan de Rioseco, Vergara, Quipile and Guaduas are the municipalities with the highest production volume. In economic terms, wheat contributes approximately $ 307.9 billion to Cundinamarca.
Investments in infrastructure
