“The suspension is granted for the sole purpose of not distributing free textbooks for the 2023-2024 school year until the merits of the matter are resolved, in which it will be verified that the respective legal procedures have been observed for the determination of the study plans and programs, established in the General Law of Education”, says the resolution of the Court.
When establishing his position, the President of the Republic said that just as the determination not to distribute the books in Chihuahua is respected, it will also be done with Coahuila.
“We are going to respect, although we have the right to state that it is an arbitrary, unfair, tendentious, conservative, and political decision,” he considered.
López Obrador said that they will wait for the final resolution of the authority, and in the event that it is concluded that the books cannot be distributed, he considered that parents and teachers should demonstrate.
He expressed his confidence because at the start of the school year, most students have their educational material.
“Next Monday when classes restart, which is the return to classes, I am sure that in most states, in most public schools, they will already have the books, where there are no these protections. , these controversies”, he highlighted.
