320 athletes competed in the Pan American and World Cup Sub 15 and Sub 17 Weightlifting and two athletes from the Caldense League of this discipline participated in the virtual competition.
The weightlifter from Caldas Duvaney Sinisterra achieved six gold medals, three in snatch, clean and jerk and total division 59 Kg Pan-American Cup Under 17, and three in snatch, clean and jerk and total division 59 Kg World Cup Under 17.
In addition, the weightlifter from Caldas Ingrid Segura reached 12 gold medals: three in snatch, clean and jerk and total 64 kg division of the Pan-American Sub 15; three in snatch, clean and jerk and total 64 kg division of the Pan-American U17; three in snatch, clean and jerk and total division 64 kg of the Sub 15 World Cup, and three in snatch, clean and jerk and total division 64 kilograms in the Sub 17 World Cup.
“The support of the Government and the Mayor’s Office is very important because with that we can move forward and leave our department high,” said the weightlifter from Caldas Duvaney Sinisterra.
The athletes had the methodological support and the Sports Medicine team of the Government of Caldas. “We come to accompany one of the sports that concern us, which is projection towards National Games 2023. With these athletes we have a great projection, not only in national events but also in international events with the Colombian National Team”, concluded Diego Fernando Vallejo, methodologist of the group Tiempo y marca terrestrial of Caldas.
