Through a Supreme Decree published in the legal regulations bulletin of the official newspaper El Peruano, the Government determined that Mexican citizens who wish to enter Peru must carry a visa.
The legal device endorsed by Foreign Minister Javier Gonzáles – Olaechea and the president, Dina Boluarte, orders the suspension of the tourist and business visa exemption for travelers from the North American country and its entry into force within 15 days.
Thus, Mexicans who want to do tourism or business in our country must apply for the corresponding visa at the Consular Office of Peru in their country to be able to regularize their stay and activities in our country.

Mexican citizens who have a visa could stay in Peru for a maximum period of 180 calendar days per year, either in a single visit or in several consecutive trips.
The Government’s action is taken after Mexico made the decision to require a visa for Peruvians who want to enter their country starting April 20. According to them, the measure responds to the increase in cases of compatriots who work in the Aztec country despite not having the corresponding permit.
