Bloomberg Technoz, Jakarta – The government has officially increased the subsidy for converting electric motorbikes to IDR 10 million from only IDR 7 million.
This addition is contained in the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Regulation Number 13 of 2023 concerning Amendments to Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 3 of 2023.
“The conversion fee discount value as intended in paragraph (1) is given at Rp. 10,000,000 (ten million rupiah) for each converted motorbike,” wrote paragraph (4) of Article 3 in the regulation which was promulgated on December 15.
The cost breakdown is intended to at least include costs for battery pack, brushless DC (BLDC) motors, and controller which is adjusted to the details of the electrical energy capacity of the battery and the power of the electric motor.
In total, the electric motorbike conversion incentive worth IDR 10 million is set at a total conversion cost of IDR 17 million, or in accordance with the engine capacity regulated in the transportation sector.
