FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The government has signaled an increase in the price of Pertalite, Diesel, 3 kg LPG and electricity rates. This was conveyed by the Minister of Energy and Human Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif in a Working Meeting with Commission VII DPR RI, Tuesday (12/4).
In this regard, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Economic and Energy Observer Fahmy Radhi said that this would have an impact on rising inflation. According to him, if the goods increase, it will contribute to inflation by 1.5 to 3 percent.
“The increase in the four commodities will certainly trigger inflation significantly, which will cause an increase in the prices of basic needs, worsen people’s purchasing power and increase the burden on the people,” he said to JawaPos.com, Friday (15/4).
This event, which is likely to happen soon, will place a heavy burden on the poor. This is because they will bear the burden of rising prices for basic necessities due to inflation.
“It is very ironic, the poor, who have never bought fuel and 3 kg LPG because they do not have motorized vehicles and gas stoves, must share the burden of rising prices for basic necessities,” he added.
Previously, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif said that in anticipation of the impact of rising global oil prices, his party had prepared a number of steps. Both long term and short term.
“Optimizing the mixture of biofuels in diesel, adjusting the price of pertalite, diesel oil and accelerating substitute fuels, including KBLBB, BBG, bioethanol or BioCNG,” he explained.
