Government – Düsseldorf – Suspicious powder in the State Chancellery: all-clear – politics

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – After an envelope with an unknown white powder caused a large-scale operation by the fire brigade in the Düsseldorf State Chancellery, the fire brigade gave the all-clear. The operation ended after just under four hours at around 2.15 p.m., a spokesman said on Friday. According to police, the examination of the substance showed that it was harmless. So far, it has not been possible to find out what exactly it was. The shipment did not have a sender. Now the state security is investigating.

The fire brigade was alerted around 10.15 a.m. and deployed to the State Chancellery with numerous vehicles and specialists. The building near the banks of the Rhine was not cleared. The police blocked the right of way to the State Chancellery. Around noon the operation was already scaled back, after 2 p.m. all firefighters returned to their guards.
