The Government of President Nayib Bukele through the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) initiated the project “MOP Verde” which has the objective of planting 3,000 trees per day in different parts of the country.
In a joint effort between workers from the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) and the Road Conservation Fund (Fovial), they have executed the reforestation program to repopulate green areas and create more wooded areas in the country to contribute to the environment.
The proposed goal is to plant a million in one year.
In addition, the authorities detail that the reforestation plan includes irrigation actions during the summer season, fertilization, fumigation, pruning and cleaning.
Among other actions by the Government is
The creation of a
nursery with the capacity to produce half a million plants per year of forest, fruit and ornamental species. The materials used in this place are biodegradable technology, plastic bags are not used and there is a modern irrigation system.
Among the places that the Government will carry out reforestation campaigns are:
The peripheral Gerardo Barrios in the eastern part of the country; Pan-American Highway, in the Quezaltepeque sector; Litoral highway, in the Comalapa-Zacatecoluca section, among others.
