Next Tuesday, August 15, the fourth cycle of negotiations between the National Government and the ELN will begin in Caracas, Venezuela. The delegation commanded by Otty Patiño is already on Venezuelan soil. This cycle is expected to end at the beginning of September.

Despite last week’s news, where the Military Forces announced six alleged violations of the ceasefire, in addition to possible plans for an attack against the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa, the former Army commander, General Enrique Zapateiro and Senator María Fernanda Cabal on behalf of the ELN, will continue the talks with the guerrillas in Caracas.
The senator for the Historical Pact, Iván Cepeda, announced that they have already traveled to Caracas in Venezuela to continue negotiations with this guerrilla that is in the fourth cycle of negotiations.
“The entire government delegation is already ready to travel. This cycle will undoubtedly be a new development, especially on the issues of participation and ceasefire. We hope to come to the country with new agreements that develop this important peace process”, pointed out the senator.
In addition, the National Participation Committee was consolidated with five commissions, to start the process of designing participation, this through different territorial and sectoral meetings to dialogue and propose with society as one of the points agreed at the table.
